Definition:- In a hair removing process when intense pulses on non-coherent light used to destroy the hair follicle then process is called intense pulsed light (IPL) hair removal.

2. Red bumps or Skin may turning pink and sore immediately after the procedure.
3. Sensation of a mild sunburn (redness, peeling, swelling) that may last a few days after treatment.
Major side effect of IPL:-
Skin pigment may absorb too much light energy and blistering can occur.
Sometimes the pigment cells (melanocytes) can be damaged leaving darker or paler patches of skin.
White patches or scars are rarely permanent. Hair loss may occur. Bruising affects up to 10% of patients.

DeleteThat is great information to know before choosing a hair removal method, thank you for writing with so many details. I personally had no idea IPL was also used for skin rejuvenation and dark circle treatments, it’s like a 3 in 1 machine! Prices of at home machines seems reasonably low, I thought it wold be way less, but with these prices, it is a lot of money saved compared to going to a salon! But will I be strong enough to do it myself ;)

I got my first treatment done and I had to say that the pain feels like skin brushing, for anyone who has done that. It is uncomfortable but no where near as painful as waxing! As for the after… I had some mild irritation. My legs felt warm and were red, a bit itchy, but it went away after 2 days.
